Activity: Gratitude Song Reflection

  1. Pre-listening
    • Ask students:
      • What makes a good friend?
      • What do good friends do for each other?
  2. While-listening
    • Listen to the song together.
    • Ask students to identify words or ideas related to friendship and helping others.
  3. Pair-Share
    • Students work in pairs.
    • Ask:
      • Who is a good friend in your life?
      • What makes him/her a good friend?
      • How has your friend helped you?
      • How do you show appreciation to your friend?
  4. Creative Task – Thank You Card
    • Students create a “Thank You Card” for someone they appreciate.
    • They may choose a friend, teacher, parent, sibling, or another person.

💬 Pair-Share Example

Student A:

“I want to thank my best friend because she always helps me when I have a problem. She also listens to me when I need someone to talk to.”

Student B:

“That’s nice. I appreciate my friend because he always helps me with my homework and encourages me when I have difficulties.”

Then, they switch roles so both students have a chance to speak and listen.
