Case Study: “Friends Who Stopped Talking”
Background
At an international high school, Raka and Amir have been best friends since Grade 10. They always studied together, played futsal every Friday, and often helped each other with school assignments.
However, in the past few weeks, their friendship has started to fade. It all began during the Independence Day poster design competition. Raka made a design that he thought was creative, but the committee chose Amir’s design instead. Since then, Raka felt that Amir “stole” his ideas.
Things got worse when Raka heard a rumor that Amir told other friends that Raka’s design was “too ordinary.” Raka became angry and started ignoring Amir. Amir, who felt he did nothing wrong, chose to stay silent. Now, they don’t talk to each other, even in class. Their classmates are starting to take sides: some support Raka, others support Amir.
The homeroom teacher is worried that this conflict will affect the classroom atmosphere.
